In rulings issued on September 3, the Florida Supreme Court removed a multi-billion dollar tax swap plan from the November ballot, along with a pair of school voucher amendments.
In the tax case, the justices ruled 7-0 to strike from the ballot a plan that would eliminate most school property taxes in favor of more sales taxes. In the voucher case, the justices ruled 7-0 to strike two amendments that would have laid the groundwork for children to attend private religious schools using taxpayer-funded vouchers.
