Young girl shows spirit of giving

Young Rosie Solis of Ohio knows it is better to give than to receive. according to a news report by Julie O'Neill on WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. When planning for her 7th birthday party earlier this month, Rosie told her parents that instead of receiving presents, she'd like to collect money for the patients of Children's Hospital.

Upon learning that the hospital needed books, Rosie insisted on collecting 450 books--one for each patient. She launched an e-mail and door-to-door campaign, and soon piles of books were being brought to a bin placed on the porch of her house. Following news coverage of her project, even more donations came pouring in. By her birthday, Rosie had collected well over 1,000 books, and she hopes to triple her original goal of 450 by the time she delivers the books on August 25.
