Canadian libraries thrive in Internet age

Business is booming at major public libraries in Canada, according to an article by Shannon Proudfoot and Mary Frances Hill appearing in the Vancouver Sun. From Toronto to Edmonton to Surrey, circulation is strong, and there is sometimes a waiting list for the most popular titles.

According to the article, Toronto boasts the busiest public library system per capita in the world, with 1.2 million cardholders and 28.9 million items in 40 languages circulating each year.
