Nigeria aims to foster and sustain a reading culture

Nigeria is on a radical and daring quest to be among the top 20 economies in the world by the year 2020. The success of this aspiration will largely be determined by the level of skilled manpower, says Eyo Willie of the Peniel Library in Lagos. To that end, Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education is getting ready to launch a national campaign to resuscitate and sustain a reading culture. Libraries, learning and reading have a role to play in determining the future of our society, Willie writes in his opinion piece at allAfrica.com.
