Brown, Gates call for revolution in education

Gordon Brown, Great Britain’s chancellor, teamed up with Bill Gates, the world’s richest man, to call for a revolution in education — one in which every child in the world will have the chance to go to school. At the Microsoft World Leaders Forum February 1 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Brown said information technology would enable the current generation to educate children from the poorest countries around the globe. Brown also called for an “education revolution” in Britain by mandating compulsory school attendance until age 18. Read more at the scotsman.com.
