A major push toward a national curriculum for schools is causing controversy in Australia. Federal Education Minister Julie Bishop on February 1 promoted unifying the system and said she would push the national agenda at a key meeting in April. I am concerned that students, teachers and parents are being let down as many aspects of school education get hijacked by teachers unions and state education bureacrats, she said.
