Seven IRA members are among the educators named as 2007 State Teachers of the Year as part of the National Teacher of the Year project, which is coordinated by the Council of Chief State School Officers and supported by ING. These teachers now become eligible for consideration as National Teacher of the Year. That person will be named in the spring of 2007. This years IRA State Teachers of the Year are as follows:
