Seven IRA members named State Teachers of the Year

IRA Icon Seven IRA members are among the educators named as 2007 State Teachers of the Year as part of the National Teacher of the Year project, which is coordinated by the Council of Chief State School Officers and supported by ING. These teachers now become eligible for consideration as National Teacher of the Year. That person will be named in the spring of 2007. This year’s IRA State Teachers of the Year are as follows:

California—Alan Lawrence Sitomer
Delaware—Caridad Alonso
Iowa—Jan Keese
New York—Marguerite D. Izzo
North Dakota—Marlene Srock
Vermont—Kathleen Sullivan
Wisconsin—Terry Lee Kaldhusdal

IRA congratulates these members on this honor and wishes them luck in the next stage of the process.
