Report provides “snapshot” of public education in the United States

The Center on Education Policy (CEP) has released a new report on the important facts concerning the U.S. education system and how things have changed — and will continue to change — over time. The primer, A Public Education Primer: Basic (and Sometimes Surprising) Facts About the U.S. Education System, provides a comprehensive picture of the nation’s public schools by answering the following questions:

• Who are the students?
• Where are the students?
• Who controls public education?
• How are public schools funded?
• How well are students achieving?
• What is the public school teaching force like?
• What other services do public schools provide?

The report is available online at the CEP website. Copies can be ordered from CEP for $3.00 each.
