Mumbai-based Rev. Trevor Miranda has opened the floodgates of educational opportunity for Indias poorest children, and his efforts are not going unnoticed. His Reach Education Action Program (REAP), which commenced in 1996, has opened 450 literacy centers that bring books and teachers to the desperately poor. For his efforts, Miranda is the 2005 winner of the $1 million Opus Prize. This story appears in the Hindustan Times (India).
